R N Prabhakar

Ravindra Nath Prabhakar joined Indian Telecommunications Service of Government of India, Ministry of Communications in February, 1970 through Indian Engineering Services (IES) examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission. In a distinguished career spanning four decades, he held a wide variety of portfolios in the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), varying from Policy Planning including liberalisation of the Telecom Sector and Regulatory aspects, Research & Development, Telecom Network Management as Independent Head of a Circle/ Large Secondary Switching Area.

He was appointed as Member, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) by Government of India in February, 2007 for three years. During this period TRAI issued Regulations on Interconnection Usage Charge (IUC), Quality of Service (QOS), Unsolicited Commercial Communications (UCC), Mobile Number Portability (MNP) etc. and various orders related to Tariffs and Consumer Welfare related aspects. These measures brought significant development in the Telecom Sector including reduction in tariffs and increase in the penetration of Telecom services into the rural areas.

He worked in the Headquarter of the Department of Telecommunication as Additional Secretary & Special Secretary from 2003 to 2006, in the Telecom Policy formulation in the licensing & regulatory field and introduced the concept of Unified Access Service License (UASL) and took various steps towards the growth of Telecom Sector in India.

He has served the field organizations of the Department of Telecommunications in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi for more than 30 years. In various capacities he has contributed towards the introduction of various new technologies in the telecom network, long term planning concepts and effective consumer grievance redress measures. He prepared long term STD network plan for Delhi Telephones and long term network plan for Varanasi/Bhopal/Faridabad Secondary Switching Areas.

He has worked for about 7 years in the training field in Advanced Level Telecom Training Centre (ALTTC), Ghaziabad and Telecom Training Centre, Lagos, Nigeria. These training centres impart induction training and carrier development training to Class I Officers and he imparted training in the field of Network Planning, External Plant and Management of Telecom Network.

He has also served as Independent Director on the boards of Instrumentations Limited, Kota and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, New Delhi. He has been involved in various expert groups related to Numbering Scheme, Fundamental Telecom Plans which included Switching/Routing/Numbering/Charging/ Transmission and Synchronisation.

He has presented papers in various National and International seminars on Network Security, Regulation, Public Policy, Broadband Policy etc. He has been utilising his experience by giving lectures to MBA students in various colleges.

Born on 5th January, 1946 Mr Prabhakar has done all his studies in well recognised institutions in Delhi. He has done B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering, University of Delhi and Masters in Business Administration from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi. He is Fellow Member of the Institution of Engineers (India) and has been Chairman of the Varanasi Local Centre of the Institution of Engineers for two years.

Ajay Vaishnavi

Ajay comes with sound understanding of Mobile Business Strategy, Product & Content Management and has more than 17 years experience  in IT / Telecom VAS sector.  In his current assignment, he is responsible for Business Management and Operations for the Telecom Business Unit at Indiatimes, that manages India’s most popular short-code service 58888 and offer connectivity / mobile applications to brands and enterprises.

Ajay has been among the first in the Industry to work on launching new VAS / Mobile applications and has worked with organizations like Bharti Airtel, ACL Wireless, and Satyam Infoway, in the past. His last assignment was with CellNext Solutions as its Chief Operating Officer.

Ajay is a Bachelor of Engineering from BITS, Pilani and has done his MBA from MDI, Gurgaon.

Milind Pathak

Milind heads the Global Market of new business Unit at One97 Communication Ltd. and in this role; he provides strategic direction and operational focus to expand the market unit. Milind is recognized as a thought leader in the Telecom Industry and has been invited to speak at various events like IAMAI, MEF, ASSOCHAM, FICCI etc.

 Milind has over 18 years of experience in managing sales, business development, marketing, strategy and operations. Prior to joining Comviva, Milind was Co-CEO & Country Manager, Buongiorno (Hong Kong) Ltd, where he developed and managed the company’s business in India and the SAARC region. Prior to this he was with Mitsui as Head of New Services Business, where he defined the Indian entry strategy for multiple companies in sectors such as mobile commerce, telematics and mobile value added services.

 Milind has a BE from Pune University and an MBA in Marketing Management from Jamnalal Bajai Institute in Mumbai.



Zubin Dubash
Zubin Dubash

Zubin Dubash, an eminent name in the VAS fraternity, acts as the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at Onward Mobility (a Brick & Mortar Retail Network subsidiary, engaged in the business of MVAS & apps).

Prior to this, Zubin was leading the VAS, 3G and Mobile Internet wing at Tata Docomo, Tata Photon and Tata Indicom. In the position of Vice President, he was responsible for strategy and innovation in the areas of m-Commerce, NFC, Mobile 2.0, Mobile TV, m-Advertising, m-Learning, M-Health, M-Governance and other emerging spaces. He left Tata Docomo past month and rumors in the industry were surfacing about his new step. His joining has put a full stop over all these talks. Engineer by background, Rajesh has to his credit nearly two decades of experience in the telecom industry spanning various leading companies like Philips, Samsung, Lucent Technologies and Tekelec. He has held various positions of heading Sales, Business development and Strategic Alliances. Prior to donning the entrepreneurial cap, Rajesh was the Managing Director of a US multinational Tekelec Inc. He was instrumental in establishing Tekelec’s leadership in India’s rapidly growing telecommunications market. Instrumental in not just achieving the business goals but to substantially surpass them has been a hallmark of his leadership style.
