Airtel Brand Director Bharat Bambawala quits

The man behind the success of Airtel’s friendship campaign  ’Jo Mera Hain Wo Tera Hain’, Bharat Bambawale, Brand Director of Bharti Airtel has resigned from his position, according to news source. A company spokesperson confirmed his exit to the source.

Bambawale who had joined Bharti in August 2011 was looking after Airtel’s brand across India and Africa.

Off lately, Sanjay Kapoor, CEO (India and South Asia), Bharti Airtel, after serving the company for 15 years has resigned in January, giving way to Gopal Vittal who has been working as director (special projects) since April 2012. But Kapoor will continue its association with the Bharti group as a Director on the board of Indus Towers and Bharti Global.

Last month, as part of massive organizational restructuring Bharti Airtel had said that it would split its business into eights hubs to be controlled by Ajai Puri who will now be the Director (Market Operations). Currently the company has three regional hubs.

The new organisation design is aimed at furthering the company’s initiatives to build a more connected organisation, which is closer to the market place and is able to deliver a world-class experience to customers,” Bharti Airtel had said in a statement.

The company recently had appointed Manoj Kohli as its new Managing Director. The hubs will report to Ajai Puri, who has been elevated to the newly created position of Director (Market Operations).
