Airtel to partner with restaurant, cafes for its wireless services

Today the use of WiFi is one of the most suitable ways of accessing Internet. India is still not considered as one of the most Wi-Fi friendly countries but slowly and gradually telecom companies are looking to promote the use of Wi-Fi via hot spots in a big way.

Airtel is set to offer Wi-Fi services in Delhi- NCR, Mumbai and Bengaluru as part of its initial phase. The company will be providing Wi-Fi Hangout wireless broadband Internet with unlimited usage. All the Wi-Fi plans have been set on session or time based. The rentals of usage are Rs 20 for 30 minutes for unlimited download and Rs 30, Rs 50 offers 60 minutes and 120 minutes of usage respectively.

The company is also intending to offer its hot spot service to cafes, restaurants by partnering with them from a business point of view.  Airtel Wi-Fi Partners can start offering service at zero investments and will be able to earn commission on every Wi-Fi session sold.

To use the Wi-Fi services, all one needs to do is go to Airtel Hotspot and select ‘Airtel WiFi Zone‘, then activate voucher and login to start browsing. Airtel has introduced its new helpline 18001022244 for all the queries regarding Wi-Fi services.

While the Wi-Fi services are often considered as a security threat, looking at the ease of accessing Internet on a public platform but Airtel has to make sure the services offered do not pose any threat to national security and keep their service dynamics error-free.
