Telecom major Airtel has been directed by a consumer forum to pay Rs 6,000 to one of its subscribers for not activating her mobile connection after charging her for it.

The direction came from, The East District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, after complainant Asha Sharma’s affidavit which said she had paid Rs 1,000 to Airtel for its mobile telephone services but the firm never activated the SIM card issued to her despite repeated requests.
