Ubantu releases Ubuntu Lock Screen App for Android phones

Canonical has launched an Ubuntu Touch Styled Lock Screen App. The application is for Android phones. According to omgubuntu.co.uk, the app has been designed by a developer at the XDA Developer forums. This app is available for free download from Google Play. Although it does not bring Android into Ubuntu’s mobile system, it does add certain glamour to the phone with its features which include -.

-Swipe screen to left to open phone
-Animated infographic
-SMS and Missed Calls notifications shown in infographic
-Lock-screen security
-On-screen music buttons
-Customisable user name
-Time, date & alarm info

As per forum.xda-developers.com, the Ubuntu lock screen App is the first of its kind for Android users. The App is simple to use and has the elegance and style from Ubuntu Touch OS. It has many settings that can be altered. These range from animations to colours. The app is available in languages like Spanish, English, Dutch, Turkish, Portuguese and Italian.
