Google 6 Pixel series availability
There’s bad news for Google Pixel fans in India as the two smartphones are not launching in the country. Google is launching the phones in eight countries across the globe. The list includes: Australia, Canada, France, Germany,
Japan, Taiwan, United Kingdom and United States. In 2020 too, Google did not launch Pixel 5 in India. The Pixel 5 launched in nine countries, this year the number has reduced to eight with the phone not launching in Ireland.
Google 6 Pixel series price
Google Pixel 6 series price starts at $599. Pixel 6 Pro, which boasts of more advanced capabilities and upgraded finishes, will be available at $899 onwards. The two phones are available for pre-order starting today (October 19) in the 8 countries mentioned above and will go on sale starting October 28.
Google Pixel series display and design
Google Pixel 6 6.4-inch OLED display, while its 6.7-inch for Pixel 6 Pro. Pixel 6 has FHD+ resolution and Pixel 6 Pro QHD+. At 120Hz, the refresh rate on Pixel 6 Pro too is higher than Pixel 6’s 90Hz. Both the phones have HDR support. For durability, there’s Gorilla Glass Victus front Gorilla Glass 6 back on the two phones.
Google claims distinct design for both the smartphones. Pixel 6 Pro is said to be inspired by the finishes you see in luxury jewelry and watches. The colour options of Pixel 6 are: Stormy Black, Kinda Coral and Sorta Seafoam. For the Pixel 6 Pro these are Stormy Black, Cloudy White and Sorta Sunny.
As per Google, Pixel 6 series phones are the highest rated phone for security. The duo include the next generation Titan M2TM, which works with Tensor security core to protect users sensitive data, PINs and passwords. The company has extended its support window to at least five years of security updates. This means that Pixel 6 series users will get security updates for at least 5 years.
‘Most-advanced’ cameras on Pixel phones
Google says that Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro have the most advanced cameras that it has ever built. The entire camera experience is said to be improved from the hardware to Pixel’s computational photography. For specs, there’s 50MP main camera in Pixe 6 phones. The Pixel 6 has dual camera set-up at the back, while its triple in Pixel 6 Pro. On fron there’s 8MP camera in Pixel 6 and 11MP in Pixel 6 Pro.
Both Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro have a new 1/1.3 inch sensor on the back. This primary sensor can capture up to 150% more light (compared to Pixel 5’s primary camera). Both phones also have new ultrawide lenses with larger sensors.
Pixel 6 Pro also has telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom and up to 20x zoom with an improved version of Pixel’s Super Res Zoom. There’s also an upgraded ultrawide front camera that records 4K video. Users can make use of that wider front camera in Snapchat’s new ultrawide selfie feature. Plus, for instant Snapchat access, the new Quick Tap to Snap feature is coming exclusively to Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro later this year, says Google.
There’s Magic Eraser that makes distractions in photos disappear, with a few taps in Google Photos, users can remove strangers and those unwanted objects. There’s Motion Mode features with options including Action Pan and Long Exposure. Another advancement in photography across Pixel and Google Photos is Real Tone.
Smarter speech
Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro also have improved speech recognition and language understanding models. For instance, users can now use their voice to quickly type, edit, and send messages with Assistant voice typing in Messages, Gmail and more.
