NEW DELHI: Reliance Jio has quietly rolled out two new prepaid plans priced at Rs 2,999 and Rs 349. The Jio Rs 349 prepaid plan offers unlimited voice calls, 2.5GB high-speed data per day, and 100 SMS per day, with a validity of 30 days, This plan further offers access to Jio apps such as JioTV, JioCinema, JioSecurity, and JioCloud.
The Rs 899 provides similar daily data and calling benefits, with has a larger validity of 90 days.
Jio is also providing 5G data with these two prepaid plans under the Jio Welcome Offer, according to reports.
To recall, the telecom operator had launched a Rs 61 ‘5G Upgrade‘ data add-on which provides 6GB of high–speed 4G data, and also enables Jio users to enjoy 5G data. This data pack is applicable on Jio plans priced at Rs 119, Rs 149, Rs 179, Rs 199, and Rs 209, according to the listing on the telco’s website.
JP Morgan, in a report, also said that it does not see Reliance Industries listing its consumer businesses, which includes Jio, in the coming year. The potential listing of Jio Infocomm was another factor that analysts had said would encourage Jio to implement tariff hikes this calendar.
