NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea has launched five new prepaid plans for its subscribers, priced between Rs 29 to Rs 319.The Rs 29 Vodafone Idea prepaid plan is an add-on plan which offers 2GB of data with validity of 2 days, and no other benefits.
The Rs 39 Vodafone Idea prepaid plan is a 4G data voucher. It offers 3GB of FUP data as well as 7 days validity, and other benefits. As per reports, the plan is only available in the Gujarat circle.
The Rs 98 Vodafone Idea prepaid plan is available in two circles currently – Gujarat and Maharashtra & Goa – with different benefits. The plan provides 9GB of data for 21 days. These benefits are limited to the Gujarat circle while in Maharashtra & Goa, this plan provides unlimited voice calling benefit, 200MB of data and validity of 15 days.
“In a rising interest rate environment, we see downside risks to EPS/fair value on the back of increased gearing; and expect the increase in retail diesel price to have an impact on Bharti’s EBITDA margin as most towers run on diesel generators,” BofA Securities said in a note.
The Rs 195 Vodafone Idea prepaid plan offers 2GB of FUP data along with benefits – 300 SMS and unlimited voice calling, with a validity of 31 days.
Lastly, the Vodafone Idea Rs 319 prepaid plan offers unlimited voice calling benefit, along with 100 SMS per day and 2GB of daily data. Other benefits also include Binge All Night, data rollover, and Data Delights live TV.
Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea last November had hiked their prepaid tariffs in a bid to boost their respective average revenue per user (ARPUs), following industry consensus that the ARPUs were too low for telcos’ sustenance. Since then, the telcos have been refreshing their tariff lineups by quietly launching new plans.
A Bengaluru customer took a cellular service provider to court after it failed to refund him Rs 20, which he had shelled out to recharge his prepaid sim, only to be told later that the package plan had been scrapped.
